Surviving The Teen Years
The only thing harder than being a teen today is being a teen girl. The expectations piled upon them- get good grades, have close friends, play a sport, volunteer, get along with your family, take the SAT, plan for college- its enough to make anyone want to scream! Add in cyber bullying, mean girls, body image, emerging sexuality- it can feel like too much.
So many of the girls I see have had enough. They're out of healthy ways to cope. Many are depressed, anxious, some are cutting or thinking of hurting themselves. They feel like no one really gets it, and no one is really helping.
That's where I come in. Besides years of experience in working with teen girls, I also have a passion for it. I get it. "My girls" as I love to call them, have learned tools to get to the other side. They've left behind the sadness, pressure, and hurt and are building lives full of promise, excitement, and strength. These are the girls that give us all hope for a brighter future.
Some of the things we've conquered together are:
- Self-Harm and Cutting
- Eating Disorders
- Abusive Relationships
- Family Conflict
- Sexual Identity Issues & Sexuality
- Uncertain Life Goals
- Anxiety
- Sadness
