What Is Counseling?

Counseling (which is also sometimes called “therapy”) is a process and relationship that empowers you to accomplish emotional, relationship, or career goals. A good counselor will help you to understand your current struggles, identify patterns that keep you stuck, and teach you new techniques to help you reach your goals.

Who Gets Counseling?

Everyone! Well, everyone could benefit from counseling, but they haven’t all tried it- yet. The old belief was that only people who were truly ill needed counseling. But the truth is that most people who use counseling are just like you- “normal”, functioning individuals who have hit a roadblock and need help getting past it. Some of our clients utilize counseling to overcome depression or anxiety, some use it to learn new communications techniques and re-strengthen their relationships, some choose counseling to help them make a change in their career. The people getting counseling are your friends, neighbors, and co-workers!

Who Knows What We Talk About?

One of the most important aspects of counseling is confidentiality. No one will know what we talk about (with a few safety exceptions). Northern Colorado & Stapleton can feel like small towns, and it is especially important to know that what we talk about in our office stays in our office.

Do You Take Insurance? How Much Is It?

We do not bill insurance directly, and are thus considered “out of network". There are a variety of reasons for this, including protecting your privacy, freedom from declaring a diagnosis, and ease of scheduling. However, many of our clients receive reimbursement from their insurance company, dependent on their plan.

We charge $175 per 50 minute session, which can be paid via cash, credit card, or with a Health Savings Account debit card.

When Can I See You?

Our offices are open Monday through Thursday from 9am-6pm. Evening appointments do fill up quickly, so please give us a call in advance if you’d like to secure that time! After hours appointments are available in crisis situations.
